What to wear to your session
This is probably my most asked question. Don’t overthink it! If you want to go and buy something new, feel free…but often times we already have everything we need at home. Here are a few pointers to follow:
Colour: Embrace it! Pick a base for your bottoms, whether it’s black or blue jeans, and don’t shy away from colour. If you’re worried about whether or not the colours “go together”, think of a flower garden. It always goes. A neutral palette is always a safe choice but avoid having everyone in the same colour like all white or all black.
Patterns: As long as they aren’t too busy (think smaller, simpler patterns), you can have 1-2 options mixed in with some solids. Try not to match up patterns (ie. everyone wearing plaid or stripes).
Style: Be casual or dressy! Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely and look and feel your best. Avoid anything too clingy or too loose. Layers are a great option if you want to add some dimension, hide any problem areas, and add variety.
Lastly, let your personality SHINE!
Here are some examples from some of own client sessions…

When weather is cooler, layering is a great way to stay warm, while also adding color and texture to your wardrobe. Here is an inspiration board to give you more ideas for piecing together a cohesive look. Feel free to just pick one of these color options and build on it!
